Partner Yin Sequence

Feel like doing some yoga with a partner? This sweet sequence will have you moving and breathing together. A beautiful way to connect, wind down, and rest.

Start sitting back to back and spend a few minutes focusing on your own breath, and then focus on feeling the movement of your partner’s breath.

Here is an overview of the class with photos, the full recorded class can be found on our on demand studio platform: https://www.yogabyveda.com/members-welcome

Next you will move into a partner supported backbend/heart opener, while your partner enjoys a forward fold with the added comfort of your weight on their back.

Stay here between 3 to 5 minutes, or however long it feels right.

Then, it’s time to switch! Remember to use props to help support the body, here we used a pillow to fill the gap between head and back.

Take a moment to come back up to a seat, again sitting back to back, and just notice your body. Let yourself breathe and pause. Next we come into a seated twist, in Deer pose. This is one of my favourite partner poses. Stay for 3-5 minutes.

Time for a quick counter twist in the opposite direction, and then switch sides.

Again, release the pose and come back to a cross legged position - sitting back to back with your partner. Sit here for a moment, and connect to your breath, and feel your partners energy. When you feel ready, transition onto your hands and knees to prepare for child’s pose. Knees can be wide or together, and stay here for 3-5 minutes (or longer if that feels good).

Did I say partner yoga? I meant family yoga, with your dog haha

Then transition onto the back and come into Happy Baby pose, stay here for 1-2 minutes.

Finally, you can stretch out the body and come into a place of rest. Take time and just be still together.

I hope you enjoy this sequence,

Be the peace, be the light.
